The Property Pricer team was delighted to attend the Shoalhaven Business Awards 2026 Gala dinner and be announced winners of the Excellence in Innovation category for the Shoalhaven. It is a very proud moment for Property Pricer, particularly in a category that means so much to us. Innovation really is the story of our company. The business was started over five years ago by founder Ross McLelland because he believed there had to be a better, fairer and more transparent way to value property.

According to Ross, “I could see a problem that needed fixing. Property owners were feeling powerless when it came to understanding the valuation of what is often their most important asset – their home or investment property. This put them at a disadvantage in any negotiations involving their property. Historically, property valuation has relied on comparisons, but in this modern, data-rich era what is needed is an objective, science-backed method of valuation. A process that assesses everything from a property’s unique features to market level sales data and buyer sentiment at the time of the valuation, and I knew it could be done. I like to think of it as a quantum leap in the property valuation industry.”
Innovative method of property valuation
Leveraging Ross’s background as a remuneration expert, Property Pricer set about implementing a process to achieve this goal … and the Property Pricer tool was born. Based on logic and critical thinking, Property Pricer’s method measures, not compares, when assessing a property’s value.
The Property Pricer method uses a powerful statistical tool called regression analysis, which creates a mathematical model that can predict a property’s market value extremely accurately, based on a combination of its unique features and local market conditions.
Once a property’s features have been assigned a measurement value, this is mathematically combined with a suburb price ratio analysis and the property value becomes an equation, giving people the power to be confident in property negotiations and transactions. More details about the Property Pricer valuation method can be found here: How We Calculate Property Values at Property Pricer.
Independent validation by University Professor
This property valuation method has been rigorously tested by an independent European university professor who concluded:
By strictly adhering to rigorous mathematical principles, the Property Pricer methodology delivers a level of valuation accuracy that significantly outperforms the generalised, often inaccurate estimates found on conventional public real estate platforms.
